These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of RainLabs websites, browser extensions, SaaS tools, and related services.

RainLabs legal

A practical starter policy for an independent software project. This document is not formal legal advice.

01 About RainLabs

RainLabs is an independent software project operated by its developer. It develops browser extensions, SaaS tools, developer productivity software, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

02 Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using a RainLabs Service, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not access or use the Services. Product-specific terms presented with a particular Service may supplement these Terms.

03 Eligibility

You must have the legal capacity to enter into an agreement under applicable law. If you use a Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms for that organization.

04 Accounts

Some Services may require an account. You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate and reasonably current account information.
  • Keeping your login credentials secure and confidential.
  • Activity conducted through your account.

Please notify RainLabs if you believe your account has been compromised. RainLabs may suspend an account that appears compromised or is used abusively.

05 Acceptable Use

You must not use the Services to:

  • Violate applicable laws or regulations.
  • Distribute malware or other harmful code.
  • Gain or attempt unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data.
  • Abuse, overload, disrupt, or interfere with infrastructure or other users.
  • Circumvent service restrictions, rate limits, or access controls.
  • Misuse APIs or use automated access in an unauthorized manner.
  • Infringe intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
  • Reverse engineer restricted components where prohibited by law.
  • Engage in fraud, deception, or other harmful activity.

06 Browser Extensions

RainLabs browser extensions may interact with websites or browser functionality depending on an extension's purpose. You are responsible for reviewing requested permissions before installation. RainLabs may update extension features and, where necessary, permissions. Your browser or extension marketplace may notify you or request approval when permissions change.

07 Subscriptions and Payments

Certain RainLabs products may require a paid subscription, which may be offered on a monthly or yearly basis. Payment processing may be handled by a third-party Merchant of Record or payment provider. That provider may handle billing, taxes, invoices, renewals, and payment methods under its own terms. Pricing and the applicable billing period will be shown before purchase.

08 Automatic Renewal

If a product uses a recurring subscription, the subscription may renew automatically until canceled. You may cancel future renewals according to the process made available for the applicable product and payment provider. Cancellation generally stops future renewal and does not automatically reverse a completed charge unless required by law or applicable refund terms.

09 Refunds

Refund eligibility may depend on the product, applicable law, and the payment provider used for the transaction. Any product-specific refund terms will be presented before or at the time of purchase where required. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights that apply to you.

10 Free Trials and Free Plans

RainLabs may offer free plans, free trials, beta access, or promotional access. Eligibility, duration, and feature limits may vary. RainLabs may modify or discontinue these offerings where permitted by law. Any payment requirement following a trial will be disclosed as part of the applicable offer.

11 Product Changes

Software evolves. RainLabs may add or remove features, modify functionality, improve infrastructure, or discontinue products. Where reasonable, material changes that significantly affect a paid Service will be communicated appropriately. Legal obligations and applicable consumer rights remain unaffected.

12 Beta and Experimental Features

Features labeled beta, preview, experimental, or early access may contain bugs, change significantly, be removed, or be less reliable than production features. Unless RainLabs explicitly states otherwise, you should not rely on these features for critical workloads or as the sole location for important data.

13 Intellectual Property

RainLabs retains its rights in the software, branding, website content, designs, documentation, and original product materials. These Terms do not transfer ownership of those materials to you. Subject to these Terms, RainLabs grants you a limited right to use the Services for their intended purpose.

You retain ownership of content you submit unless a specific product clearly states otherwise.

14 User Content

You are responsible for content you submit and for ensuring you have the right to use it. You grant RainLabs only the rights reasonably necessary to host, process, transmit, and display that content to operate the Service you request. This permission lasts only as needed to provide the Service, subject to reasonable backup, security, and legal retention requirements.

15 Third-Party Services

RainLabs products may integrate with or depend on third-party services. Your use of those services may be governed by separate terms and privacy policies. RainLabs is not responsible for third-party services, outages, content, terms, or privacy practices outside RainLabs' reasonable control.

16 AI-Generated Content

AI-generated outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or unsuitable for your situation. You should independently review outputs before using or sharing them, especially where errors could cause harm. AI output is not professional legal, financial, medical, or other regulated professional advice and should not automatically be relied upon for high-risk decisions.

17 Service Availability

RainLabs aims to provide useful and reliable Services but does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or permanent availability of every feature. Maintenance, third-party outages, security events, or technical issues may temporarily affect a Service.

18 Suspension and Termination

RainLabs may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to address serious or repeated violations, including abuse, fraud, security threats, illegal activity, or repeated violations of these Terms. Where appropriate, RainLabs may provide notice or an opportunity to address the issue. You may stop using a Service at any time.

19 Disclaimer of Warranties

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Services are generally provided on an "as available" basis. RainLabs does not promise that every Service will meet every requirement or be free from defects. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer protections that cannot legally be excluded.

20 Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, RainLabs is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses resulting from use of, or inability to use, the Services. RainLabs does not exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability that cannot be waived under applicable consumer protection law.

21 Changes to the Terms

These Terms may be updated as RainLabs products and practices evolve. The latest revision date will always appear at the top of this page. Material changes may be communicated through the relevant Service or by another appropriate method when reasonable.
