Run your first audit
Every audit is user-initiated. SEO Inspector analyzes the current page only after you ask it to; it does not automatically monitor the pages you browse.

Open a normal webpage in Chrome.

Click the RainLabs SEO Inspector toolbar icon.

Open the Side Panel if it is not already open.

Select Analyze current page.
- 5
Review the SEO Score, findings, recommendations, and page details.
Page access and analysis issues
After navigation—especially when moving between different website origins—Chrome may require you to refresh the extension's access to the current page.
- Wait for the webpage to finish loading.
- Click the RainLabs SEO Inspector toolbar icon once.
- Select Analyze current page again.
Pages that cannot be audited
Chrome prevents extensions from injecting scripts into certain browser-controlled or protected pages. Examples include:
chrome://pages- The Chrome Web Store
- Other browser-protected pages where extensions cannot run
Sign-in and account access
You do not need to sign in for the core current-page SEO audit. Sign-in is required when SEO Inspector needs to confirm account-based Pro access through the RainLabs account system.
If sign-in fails, check that your email address and password are correct, then try again. You can also open your RainLabs account to review the account and subscription information currently available there.
SEO Inspector Pro
SEO Inspector Pro access is specific to RainLabs SEO Inspector. It does not unlock other RainLabs products.

Saved audits stay under your control
Audit History is a Pro feature. An audit is saved only when you explicitly select Save audit. Saved Audit History remains local to the current browser and is not synced to RainLabs.
The current extension stores up to 30 saved audits per account. You can delete an individual saved audit or use Clear history to remove all saved audits for the current account from that browser.
Export and Compare
Export audit reports
Export is a Pro feature. SEO Inspector currently generates Markdown and JSON reports locally for you to download.
Compare Audits
Compare Audits is a Pro feature. It compares the current audit with a saved audit you select, and calculates the result within the extension.
Privacy and data
- On-page audits run locally in the extension.
- Account and plan checks use RainLabs services.
- Saved Audit History remains local to the browser and is not synced to RainLabs.
- RainLabs does not use audit data for advertising.
